COONAWARRRA

The 4 Coonawarra Vineyards are planted in 3 different sites in Coonawarra. Coonawarra is some 380 km southeast of Adelaide and 430 km west of Melbourne. The Coonawarra area is known mostly for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, making beautiful full bodied, rich red wines. We experience all 4 seasons in Coonawarra, cold wet winters, beautiful Spring and Autumn days, and dry hot summer days.

Our Vineyards:

HOME BLOCK - Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz varieties are grown on this Vineyard. Named the "Home Block" as this was the location of the Thompson Family Home.

GRANDMAS BLOCK - Shiraz is the only variety grown on this dry grown Vineyard. "Grandmas Block" is located directly across the road from the "Home Block", and is where the Thompson Family's mother/grandmother lived.

CHAPEL VINEYARD - Cabernet Sauvignon is the only variety grown on this Vineyard. In amongst the Vineyard there is the Abbey Chapel and Cemetary where past priets rest.

JULIA HILL - Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot varieties are grown. Known by local bush walkers as "Julia Hill". It boasts an abundance of wildlife and birdlife, set majestically amongst Pine and Blue Gum Forrests.
